PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what MMOD, Inc. collects through Shov, why we use it, who receives it, and the choices available to you.

PASKUTINĮ KARTĄ ATNAUJINTA: OCTOBER 1, 2026

1. Scope and controller

This policy applies to shov.com, Shov accounts, waitlists, purchases, livestreams, gameplay, public profiles, replays, promotions, support, and related services operated by MMOD, Inc. ("Shov," "we," "us," or "our"). MMOD, Inc. is the controller of personal information described here. This policy does not govern third-party sites or social platforms you choose to use.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Shov, we collect:

  • Account and contact data: phone number, email, name, handle, avatar, sex if you provide it, country, language, age or eligibility confirmation if requested, marketing and cookie choices, verification status, and support messages.
  • Gameplay and public content: queue and match participation, turret assignment, control inputs and their timing, what the game displayed when you acted, network and latency measurements, turret motor, sensor, and position data, shots, confirmed kills, ranks, reactions, referrals, replay files, and profile information. The arena is livestreamed and recorded from turret, arena, and bench cameras. These recordings, private group events included, remain the property of Shov, and we may use them in our services, advertising, and marketing; players and the customers who book with us may watch, download, and share the replays of their own matches. If you enable your camera or microphone, your image, likeness, voice, surroundings, and other audio or video may appear live and in public, downloadable replays, and may be recorded and used as described in this policy.
  • Transactions: credits, purchases, gifts, discounts, ledger entries, payment status, and processor references. Stripe processes card and wallet details; Shov does not store full payment-card numbers.
  • Device and network data: IP address, approximate location, browser, operating system, device type, user agent, cookie identifiers, timestamps, logs, security signals, and diagnostic data.
  • Acquisition and usage data: pages and features used, session and conversion events, referring domain, landing path, UTM fields, and advertising click identifiers such as gclid, fbclid, ttclid, msclkid, and twclid.

We receive this information from you, your browser or device, cameras or microphones you choose to enable, arena and game systems, payment activity, service providers, referral links, and advertising platforms.

3. How we use information

  • Perform our contract with you by providing accounts, matches, live control, scoring, replays, gifts, and support.
  • Perform transactions, maintain credit balances, issue receipts, and protect Shov and its users against fraud or abuse.
  • Pursue our legitimate interests and meet legal duties by verifying eligibility, enforcing rules, securing the arena, and investigating incidents.
  • Research, develop, train, and evaluate artificial-intelligence and machine-learning models, datasets, and robotics, vision, and control systems, for Shov and for third parties; and, with consent where required, measure acquisition, product funnels, reliability, and campaign performance, and test and improve Shov.
  • Send service messages needed for your account and, with consent or as otherwise permitted, product, launch, or marketing updates.
  • Comply with law, protect safety and legal rights, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

4. Analytics and advertising

Optional analytics is on by default until you turn it off. When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 and PostHog for traffic, funnel, and product measurement. We configure PostHog without automatic click capture or session recording and use an internal account ID rather than your email or phone for identified product events. Google may provide enhanced measurement such as page views, scrolls, and outbound clicks.

Optional advertising is also on by default until you turn it off or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. When enabled, we use the Meta Pixel on selected marketing, signup, gift-checkout, and purchase-confirmation pages to measure page views, waitlist leads, completed registrations, and purchases, and to support campaign audiences. Meta may associate those events with its users. We do not send Meta your Shov gameplay activity through this pixel.

These providers receive online identifiers and technical data such as IP address, browser details, cookie IDs, page or event data, and campaign parameters. We do not intentionally send them form fields containing your name, email, phone number, payment-card data, or private support content.

See our Cookie Policy for controls and retention.

5. How we disclose information

We disclose information as needed to:

  • Service providers: Cloudflare for edge hosting, storage, security, email delivery, and approximate request location; PlanetScale for account and game databases; Backblaze for replay storage where enabled; Twilio for phone verification and messages; Stripe for payments; Apple for push notifications where enabled; and Google Analytics and PostHog for consented analytics.
  • Advertising platforms: Meta for consented campaign measurement and audiences. We may add another platform only after updating our disclosures and controls.
  • Other users and the public: handles, avatars, scores, ranks, gameplay, public profile fields, replay files, and—when you enable them—camera and microphone content designed to appear in a livestream or replay.
  • Legal and safety recipients: authorities, advisers, insurers, or affected parties when reasonably necessary for law, security, rights, or safety.
  • Data licensees and corporate transactions: AI, robotics, and research organizations that license Shov data, as described in section 6; and a buyer, investor, lender, or successor in connection with diligence, financing, reorganization, or a sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Sale, sharing, data licensing, and targeted advertising

We may license or otherwise disclose gameplay records, control inputs, timing and telemetry, turret and arena sensor data, and livestream, replay, and arena video and audio, including camera and microphone content you choose to enable, to third parties such as AI, robotics, and research organizations, for money or other value, to train and evaluate models and to develop products. We may also create, use, and disclose de-identified or aggregated data for any lawful purpose. Where a disclosure includes personal information, some privacy laws treat it as a "sale" or "sharing," and they may treat advertising cookies and pixels the same way even when no money changes hands. Where the law gives you that right, you may opt out by emailing hi@shov.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share," by turning off Advertising in Cookie Settings, or by using a browser that sends the Global Privacy Control signal. We treat that signal as an advertising opt-out for that browser.

7. Retention

We keep information as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including research, model development, safety, security, disputes, and legal obligations. Typical periods are: consent preferences for 180 days; first-touch campaign data for up to 90 days before account conversion; analytics according to the provider settings we select; account records while the account is active and afterward as needed; and transaction records generally up to seven years. Gameplay, control, telemetry, sensor, video, and audio records, public match results, replays, and the datasets and models derived from them may be kept indefinitely unless removed under applicable law or for safety, legal, or operational reasons. A later deletion request applies to the records we hold and, where the law requires, to recipients we notify; it may not reach de-identified data or models already trained. Backup and fraud-prevention copies may remain for a limited additional period.

8. Your choices and rights

You can change optional analytics and advertising choices at any time. You can also change many profile fields in your account. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or a description of processing; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit certain sensitive-data uses; and appeal a denied request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Submit a request to hi@shov.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law.

9. Security, transfers, and children

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we process, but no system is perfectly secure. Shov and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Shov is not directed to children under 13, and people under 13 may not create or use an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept the Terms for you. We do not sell or share personal information of people we know are under 16 without the authorization the law requires. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Shov or the law changes. We will post the revised date and provide additional notice when required.
