FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Shov is an online game where you remotely control a real, full-auto gun turret firing .68 cal rounds inside a secure USA shooting range, livestreamed 24/7. These are the questions people ask first.

Are the guns real?

Yes. Shov's turrets are real full-auto markers on motorised pan/tilt mounts. They fire a single shot on a tap and up to 16 rounds a second while held, sending physical .68 cal rounds downrange inside a purpose-built indoor arena. Nothing in a match is simulated — when you press fire, a solenoid pulls a real trigger.

What am I shooting at?

Lit props with impact sensors — steel and plastic targets, ammo cans, and set pieces staged around the arena floor. Every projectile impact is a hit; a hit on an active green target is one confirmed kill. A red-target hit never scores either way. The gold musical ammo cans are free play: they ring a note when struck and never score either way. Never a person or an animal.

Is it safe?

No person is ever downrange while turrets are live. The arena is a sealed, unoccupied indoor USA shooting range with a fixed movement envelope per turret, so a turret physically cannot be aimed outside its own target field. Firing is gated in software at both the cloud and arena boundaries, and every round is on camera.

Where is the arena?

In a secure private USA shooting range. It is not open to the public; the only way in is through the livestream.

How long is a match?

90 seconds. Up to twelve players compete at once, one per turret, and the player with the most confirmed kills when the clock reaches zero wins the round. Rounds run back to back all day.

What does it cost?

Entry is set by the live queue: 0 queued players cost 1 credit; 1–9 cost 5 credits; 10–19 cost 10; 20–29 cost 15; and 30 or more cost 20. Every entry includes unlimited ammunition, the price locks for the assigned match, and the winner receives 5× that match's entry.

Can I win real money?

No. Shov runs on virtual credits only. Credits can be used to enter rounds and are awarded for winning, but there is no cash withdrawal.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Shov plays in any modern mobile or desktop browser. A native iOS app is available if you want lower-latency video and haptic feedback, but it is optional.

How much lag is there?

The turret responds to your input in real time over a custom low-latency video and control pipeline built for this, not a generic video call stack. You are aiming a physical motor, so it moves at the speed a motor moves.

Can I watch without playing?

Yes. The arena is livestreamed 24 hours a day and watching is free — no account needed. Past rounds are kept as replays, including a separate point-of-view recording from every turret.

How old do I have to be?

Shov is for adults. Accounts require age verification, and the terms of service set out the full eligibility rules.

What is the ammunition?

.68 caliber rounds, the same calibre used in the paintball and less-lethal training world. They are fired by compressed air, not by a powder charge.
